Hawthorne could be considered a blonde but often it is hard to tell. She believes that hair gets in her way, so she often cuts it short to the point that is disappears under her hat. The color itself resembles a dark blonde, mingling with some brown highlights. When it is long, the ends curl around her shoulders and her bangs have to brushed out of the way. This is why she keeps it short. The longer is gets, the more she has to bother with it. When it does reach exceptional length, she is forced to tie it back. Instead Hawthorne prefers to cut it short and not have to deal with it.

[EYES]
Her eyesight has never been the best. Hawthorne has horrible near-sightedness. She cannot see much past arms-length without the use of glasses or contacts. When on the job, she prefers to wear contacts just so she cannot lose a pair of glasses and it is less likely she goes blind. When not on duty, she has a pair of thick-framed glasses that she wears. Hawthorne’s eyes are pale green in color and have flecks of brown near to the pupil nearly matching her brother’s eye color. This distinct color can be traced down to her father, this is often how she is recognized as the former Captain’s daughter.

Hawthorne doesn’t resemble a woman in figure in the slightest. Instead she holds a rather boyish figure. Her chest is almost completely flat and her hips never quite developed. Due to years of sports in high school, her shoulders are broad and muscular. The only trait that seems to separate Hawthorne from the rest of the men in the Guard is her size. Hawthorne is barely five feet, four inches. She is considered short but she can handle her own. She doesn’t quite look it but Hawthorne weighs near one-hundred and thirty pounds and can handle herself in a fight.

[FASHION]
Hawthorne has no interest in today’s hottest clothing. Instead she prefers her Guard uniform to other types of clothing. The gray jumpsuit is functional and provides movement and flexibility. When not on duty, she prefers a simple sweatshirt and jeans. She finds no use in make-up or other beauty products and avoids them like the plague. There is no reason for her to spend money on such useless items.

“Let me try and wrap my head around this.”
Hawthorne always thinks before she acts. To move forward without first considering the consequences if against her nature. Instead, she must always confirm she is doing the right thing before charging forward. Planning is a skill that Hawthorne regards in the highest and that is often the focal point of arguments with her brother. Hawthorne must always stick with the plan and to be without one is a crime in itself. Though, this also hinders the young Guard member’s movements. She is not always the first to act, hanging back until she has assessed the situation. She is horrible with impromptu attacks and often cannot attack quick enough.

This Guard member has no interest in power. The idea of ambition soars over her head. Instead, the girl would rather keep her low profile and remain a Guard grunt as long as it doesn’t bring her trouble. Hawthorne does not possess the desire to lead and would rather follow someone of authority. This girl also follows orders with little question. Unless there is a glaring problem in the plan, she will not make suggestions or questions. She would rather follow the plan set for her than follow a different path. Sometimes, this can even be against her better judgment. Her loyalty to her superiors sometimes overrides her thought process.

There is no filter between Hawthorne’s brain and her mouth. Despite her desire to follow plans and respect her superiors, sometimes her mouth does her in. At times it seems the girl has no idea that she is saying her thoughts aloud. Her whole vocabulary seems to be surrounded by a few choice swear words that she picked up from fellow Guard members. The more time she spends with this sketchy crew, the fouler her mouth becomes. Over the last few months, her speech has become more rugged and her thoughts are heard more and more.

Hawthorne may be a bit slow to react to her instincts but once she starts, there is no stopping her. This girl works best with her hands and can quickly assemble traps and weapons out of what is around her. Her mind works quickly to formulate the plan and she moves even faster when building it. Hawthorne is knowledgeable in basic construction and relies heavily on this skill. Many times, it becomes hard to tell what Hawthorne is doing once she is started. Though where a problem occurs is that Hawthorne’s hands can only work as fast as her mind. If for some reason she cannot focus on the task at hand, she moves frightfully slow.

HISTORY !
DESCRIPTION:
- Hawthorne Harper and her brother Alexander were born in a small town just outside of Blackwood Hollow. Their father was still working for the Guard inside the Hollow and the twins rarely saw him.
- The two children were raised mostly by their mother, a kind woman that was very focused on her children’s school work.
- Alexander and Hawthorne were always being pushed to do their best and told great stories about their father.
- From a young age, Hawthorne knew that she wanted to follow her father’s footsteps and become part of the Guard.
- After graduating from school, Hawthorne was offered a position on the Guard after her father’s retirement. She gladly accepted the invitation and was integrated into Blackwood Hollow society.
- Hawthorne is well into her first year on the Guard but she has no desire to raise her rank at the moment.
