DESCRIPTION:
She’s not much of a girly-girl, but wears black leather pants, knee high lace up boots, a purple corset top, a metal and leather vest, and a black jacket. Since she’s a member of the Shade she travels light. On her person she keeps a handgun under her jacket tucked into her pants at her back and two hunter knifes on her hips. She also wears a small silver locket that was once her mothers.

Hero has raven black hair that waves around her face and down her shoulders. She manages to keep it tame and likes to wear it down although at times she pulls it back, especially if she’s on a mission and it could get in the way. Her eyes are a soft green color, filled with determination. Looking into them anyone can see she’s strong willed and doesn’t give up on anything easily. If one does not know her they might be off put by the way she tends to look at people due to her being deaf. She reads lips and it is the only way for her to know what is being said to her.
Her skin is fair, and she has soft freckles on her face.
Many people would think her beautiful, but she doesn’t have an opinion on her looks. Vanity is a waste of time. And for as pretty as she is she should not be underestimated.
STRIKING FEATURE: Definitely her eyes and the way they seem to see through people. Her stare can be somewhat intense.

PERSONALITY !
DESCRIPTION:
Passive-Aggressive, Stubborn, and free willed. Hero inherited all the best and worst qualities of her parents. For those who knew her father they would say she is just like him. She has a large heart and determination for justice, however sometimes she gets justice mixed up with revenge. It’s important for her to have good friends to keep her from making mistakes that she’ll regret in the future.
When on a mission, especially a dangerous one, she keeps a cool head and takes things at the utmost seriousness. Freedom for the Element people is and always has been her number one priority.
Since she was raised by her Aunt, a soft spoken lady, she has learned a few tactful skills. Namely to respect elders and people in authority. One of her biggest flaws however, is she doesn’t respect her own ability. She’s not the most powerful Air elemental and she tends to lean on her gun and knifes to fight. When the Guards are forceful with her people, she believes in having a larger and more powerful force but she doesn’t necessarily believe that force could be brains. They’re in a war, and that means people have got to get hurt.
Her willpower is strong and quite frankly there are times when what Hero needs is to be saved from herself.
STRENGTHS:
- Her fighting ability. She’s been an assassin and isn’t afraid to kill.
- Stamina. She’s stubborn and wont give up easily.
- For as little schooling as she’s had she’s street smart and a fast learner.
- She’s brave. Some would say foolishly so.
WEAKNESSES:
- She’s not as tough as she wishes she were. And for the most part she wishes she was a man.
- She trusts too easily, but doesn’t forgive easily.
- Her lack of hearing is probably her biggest weakness.
- In personal relationships she’s incredibly self-conscious
INTERESTS:
- Freedom for the Element people and revenging her parents.
- She’s something of an adrenaline junky. She loves running, jumping, being active.
- When she was younger she used to be a dancer of sorts. Nothing fancy, she just liked to move. Now she’s happy to just watch other people dance.
OTHER:
- As said above she’s deaf. She was born with limited hearing and by the time she was eight it was all lost to her. Her aunt helped her learn to read lips, and she’s come quite skilled at it, but it is her only way to communicate.
- Her own speak is somewhat off. After so many years of crafting the ability she knows how to shape her mouth in order to make a specific sound, but since some of the sounds require a certain shape of her tongue they can sound slightly off and at times completely different.
- She doesn’t mind being asked to repeat something, she’d rather be understood.
HISTORY !
DESCRIPTION:
Heros history begins with the history of her parents. Jameson was a Warrior of the Shade and a powerful one at that. A Fire Elemental, he was stubborn, clever, and good hearted. Even as a young man he got into mischief but managed to be serious when it was most important. Quite the contrast to the stoic human guard Kitt Pool. Their affair began when they were in their late twenties, a small fight between enemies turned them into lovers, and they managed to keep their affair a secret even after Hero was born.
However, when the two were discovered Hero exchanged hands between mutual friends to be protected by Jameson and the Shade. Kitt was unlucky, and when the guards found out what she’d done her punishment for treason was death. Jameson attempted to get out of the Hollow to save her but he was also killed in the attempt.
Raised by her aunt, Jamesons sister Louise, Hero’s hearing had always been bad, but by the age of eight it was gone and the woman had to figure out a way to communicate with the strong-willed child. It was difficult but slowly Hero learned how to know what was being said to her through the movement of peoples lips. She became better at the skill as she grew, and when she was little she was mostly a happy tom-boy like child.
Even though she couldn’t hear, Hero had never been shy. She ran with the young boys and played the tough games. She learned how to fist fight and wrestle and got pretty good at it. But for as much as she tried she still could never be the best due to her handicap.
When she turned eighteen Hero officially became a member of the Shade. She had learned the stories of her father and his desire for the Element people to be free to leave the Hollow, and how he died attempting to leave so that he could be with the woman he loved. She dreams of living up to his namesake and someday being the kind of woman he would have been proud to call a daughter.
