Five years later, and what have we accomplished? Absolutely nothing. The hunters have become the hunted ever since Lucifer won and took over the world. The angels? After a year battling the tide of demons – which, I might add, destroyed millions of innocent lives – they gave up and went back to wherever they live. Some of them are still around, helping us out, but that’s very rare.

New Orleans is one of the many places across the world where a Hells Gate was opened up not too long after Lucifer’s return. Quite apt, don’t you think, what with the huge cemeteries and mausoleums, and all the voodoo and witchcraft that already goes on. The gate can’t be closed – trust me, we’ve tried everything. The demons have the gate protected by every means possible. Angels can’t get close, and every hunter that’s tried to close the gate has died trying.

All is lost again, but I'm not giving in.

The only thing left to do is stick around, try to kill as many sons of bitches as possible. Of course, the demons know that, so we’ve got to be extra careful. We never know who is human and who is demon anymore. There are primarily two hunter groups in the area: those who are ruthless and realistic enough to know that you can’t worry about endangering the innocents anymore, and if a few innocents are killed during a hunt then so be it. The others are those who still think where possible the humans should be protected.

Both of our groups have a safe house/headquarters, and we freely share information… we just have different ways of hunting. Our headquarters change every couple months, sometimes sooner if need be. And those of us who call ourselves hunters? It’s not just regular hunters anymore. In this time, we need all the help we can get, and if that means joining forces with the supernatural creatures who aren’t a threat to humanity then so be it.

The demons? Well, they’re having a field day so to speak. It’s a free for all, and everything from killing, soul-dealing, and possessions are out the roof in number. All the other supernatural creatures are having a field day too; they’re more active than ever before, especially in areas around Hell Gates.

And throughout it all, everyone else in the world keeps going on with their lives, completely oblivious to the chaos around them. Or at least, mostly oblivious. They know something is different, and radicals continue to preach about the ‘end of days,’ but for the most part the human mind has an amazing capacity to ignore the truth and believe what it wants to.
